Vermont native, and prolific songwriter, Phil Cohen has devoted years to fine-tuning his craft by playing countless shows, and even spending a year in the subway stations of NYC to help him supplement funds to attend nursing school. Cohen's 2014 release "Before I Go" travels through a wide range of styles and moods: a seamless blend of folk rock, country, indie, and blue grass. His newest EP "Songs for a '98 Neon" is a collection of heartland rock songs, steeped in the 90's of his upbringing. Cohen's voice is strong and distinct; and his lyrics are unique and compelling, layered by the weathered days of lost loves and existential questions. Phil Cohen's music allows you to bask in life’s daunting moments with hope, grace, calamity, and growth.
